AND WE’RE BACK…
Our Musical Director Suzanne Leclair and Accompanist Heather Graham were nervous with anticipation about our first night back, but they did not need to be.  A new venue, a fresh start and it was wonderful to see so many there.

A huge welcome to nine new people who joined us for a total of 25 wonderful singers in celebration of finally being able to get back together.   This included six wonderful male singers made up of tenors, basses and a baritone.

A huge thank you to the Committee and supporters for being instrumental in getting us back up and running.  They came early to do the required COVID-19 cleaning and stayed afterwards to do it all again.  We are putting together a roster to share the load and a number of members have already put their hands up which is fantastic to see.

After some housekeeping information regarding the new venue and some instruction on our COVID-19 Plan it was time to get down to some singing, the reason why we were all there.  We had some fun warm up with “Drunken Sailor” then straight back into the “Streets of London”.  We were a little rusty and missing a few voices but by the end of the evening I think we sounded wonderful.

We have some great plans for the remainder of the year with participation in the Festival of Japan in September and the first Philippine Festival in October.  We have a booking to run a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on 16 August 2020 so stay tuned for further information.

It’s great to be back and I look forward to seeing you all next week.
